Mr Rajiva Das

Consultant General Surgeon
My career book has many chapters. I did medical schooling and post graduate degree followed by rural medical service in India. I moved to England for five years for obtaining further training and FRCS qualification. Subsequently I returned to India and held a post as consultant surgeon for thirteen years. Due to the deteriorating law and order situation I moved again to England and worked for more than four years as locum consultant surgeon. During that phase I applied for the equivalence route to CCT through Article 14 which was quite exhaustive. My scattered training pathway across multiple sites, under variable circumstances made completion of paper work extremely tiring .This, coupled with news of failed applications in my speciality, made the whole process very daunting. However, an irrepressible desire to acquire the recognition for a long career devoted to surgery paved my way to success. This was followed by attainment of a substantive post in Scotland.
I think determination is the keyword for achieving the career goal and this has become my mantra which I impart when counselling prospective applicants to Article 14.
