The Professor Harold Ellis Medical Student Prize For Surgery
This prestigious national award from The Royal College of Surgeons of England is open to all medical students in the UK and the winner will receive a prize of £500. The surgical society at the universities of the three prize winners will also receive £100 each. The competition is split into 2 sections. In the spring we will be advertising for students to submit 500 word abstracts on a published title and in autumn shortlisted candidates will be invited to present to a panel of judges.
2010 Student Prize
We are delighted to announce the call for abstracts for the 2010 prize. The deadline for abstract submission is 4pm Tuesday 1st June 2010. Please submit abstracts of no more than 500 words, in word format, to the main OiS email.
Please read the Guidance and Regulations for the prize carefully before submission. For details of the question for the abstract please see the Call for Abstracts. The prize is open to all UK Medical Students including final year students.
It is candidates responsibility to ensure that all aspects of the regulations are adheared to and that the Opportunities in Surgery Office has received their abstract. Confirmation of acceptance of abstracts will be sent via email within 1 working day of receipt.
Successfully shortlisted candidates will be notified no later than Friday 16th July 2010. The 2010 presentation day is on Wednesday 3rd November 2010.
