SAS Committee

The College’s SAS committee meets three times per year and has the following aims:

  • To provide a formal mechanism for SAS surgeons to be represented within and outside the College
  • To communicate the views of surgeons to the College and its Council
  • To promote involvement in all relevant areas of College activity
  • To support SAS surgeons

The committee has two Co-Chairs; a member of College Council and one a surgeon elected by the other Committee members. The elected Co-Chair of the committee sits, as an invited member, on the College’s Council.

Minutes of Committee meetings are published here when the members of the committee have formally approved them at the following meeting. An archive of minutes from earlier meetings are available on request.

If you would like to contact the committee please email us.

SAS Survey

The committee carried out a survey of SAS surgeons in 2007. The online survey has given us valuable evidence about the role SAS surgeons in the delivery of surgical care, the support they currently receive and the issues affecting them in the workplace.

If you would like to receive a copy of the results of the survey, please email us.
