CPD and Courses

CPD

There is no formal requirement for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) during training but you should think about it and prepare for when you take up a non-training post. For more information please see the section on CPD

Courses and Education

While you undertake your specialty training you will be required to undertake a number of specialty specific and some professional development courses.  You are entitled to use study leave for these courses.  Study leave is leave you can take in addition to your regular annual leave for the purposes of attending courses and conferences.  You need to check local procedures for applying for leave.  As part of this arrangement your employer may pay for some or all of you course and the associated expenses.

Details of the types of courses you may wish to undertake are available on the Raven Department of Education
