Women in Surgery

Throughout your training to date, you have hopefully met a number of surgeons who are women. You will probably have noticed that there are relatively few women currently in surgery when compared to other medical specialties.

Women in Surgery (WinS) is a national organisation working to promote surgery as a career for women and to enable women who have chosen a career in surgery to realise their professional goals.

You may find it interesting to visit the WinS section if you would like to meet other women surgeons or to discuss your future career as a surgeon.
